Today is a great day! For the first time in the 35 year history of Alpine Humane Society, we have an employee being paid to do direct enrichment work at the shelter for the hundreds of dogs and cats who pass through Alpine Animal Services each year. Please welcome our new Enrichment Coordinator, Carrie Branum.

Our part-time Enrichment Coordinator will run weekly play groups for dogs (including one on Saturday, to increase our volunteer base and opportunities for potential adopters), provide snuggles and socialization with cats, deliver tailored enrichment for animals with special needs, coordinate volunteers to maximize their contributions, and assist with the swift and accurate promotion of adoptable pets.

We are thrilled to have passed this milestone. We thank the many, many people who contribute time and money, spay and neuter their pets, evangelize rescuing from a shelter, foster, and cheer us all on!

My dogs are very important to me. I have no idea what my life would be like without my dogs because they have become a big part of my life. My dogs know how to comfort me whenever I am feeling sad. I know that it is weird to do so, but I actually talk to my dogs. I just know that they can understand me even if they cannot speak. Dogs are wonderful creatures and they always know how to cheer you up.
